The Land Behind the Screen, originally titled Gamer Celebration!,
is an arrangement of a multitude of video game music. Starting off as a small percussion ensemble made for a silly gag at the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown,
D(e)an McBride and Jeremy Meza took this music and made an entire Drumline show with it. The only goal of this was to have fun and celebrate the music of classic games such as Mario,
Donkey Kong, and Persona. This is accomplished with the performers expressing themselves and enjoying the music. Intended for an intermediate to advanced band, the music throughout
will give the performers a challenge. Understanding the emotional aspect of each section will give the performer and performance a better feel. To accomplish the best performance,
it is recommended to listen and analyze the original pieces and understand where your part lands. For the Battery you must fundamentally understand what shaping and phasing you must
add to maximize the product. You must also understand natural sticking as there were no stickings written in at the time. Overall have fun, feel like a kid on a saturday morning
playing their favorite video game. For this is dedicated to all the gamers out there that love and appreciate the music our beloved video games produce.
