Amanda Simental

About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda Simental and I am currently a senior attending Brea Olinda High School. Throughout this year in AP Computer Science, we are learning Java through Eclipse. In this website, I have posted all the projects I have completed from GITA 1, GITA 2, GITA 3, and AP Comp Sci. In addition to GITA, I also participate in Brea's music program, including Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, and Drumline. This year I had the pleasure of being flute section leader and learning baritone saxophone for the Jazz band. My goals for this year are to maintain a 4.0 GPA, and excel in all the classes I'm taking including, Marching Band, AP Computer Science, Jazz Band, AP Economics, AP Statistics, and Lit/Comp 4.

Throughout these past four years, I have really begun to love computer science and anything in the STEAM field. Implenting art and music into my projects allows me to follow both a passion in computer science as well as music. Combining these two passions is something I want to continue in higher levels of education and I hope to apply this to my future career. I also had the honor of participating in the Boeing high school internship this summer. I'm so excited to continue to pursue my passions in this field.
